GREER (WACH) -- Governor Mark Sanford was in the Upstate Monday to help celebrate the grand opening of a new company and its $12 million investment.

ASTRA/CFX will create 100 jobs.  It specializes in tire and wheel assembly for the new BMW X3.

Governor Sanford says this is the latest victory for South Carolina which led the southeast in job recruitment during the past year.

"If you look at the number of different suppliers that have come in to back BMW and it's truly remarkable," Sanford said.  "Traditional tires would basically be limited to a sort of limit of ten tires to go down on a given auto.  In this case, BMW and the cars they produce, you have more than 300 different choices."

In addition to the 100 jobs with ASTRA/CFX, last week the German company ZF announced plans to invest $350 million and create 900 jobs at a manufacturing plant in Laurens County.
