EDISTO BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a Bamberg County teen has drowned after being knocked over by a big wave in rough water off the South Carolina coast.

Investigators told multiple media outlets that 19-year-old James Jordan of Denmark was at Edisto Beach with his family and friends Saturday.

Authorities say Jordan and three others were knocked off their feet. Jordan disappeared, while another in the group was injured, but climbed from the ocean.

Rescue teams found the teen's body about two hours later.

Authorities say the ocean at the beach was about as rough as it gets Saturday.
