Bridge construction periodically closes Riverwalk

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A portion of the popular trail along the Columbia Canal will be closed periodically over the next few months for road construction.

Crews are working on the Broad River Road Bridge which runs over the walkway.

Schedules will be posted at trail entrances and flaggers will be assigned to direct pedestrian traffic as they move equipment and materials for construction.

The work is planned to last until the end of August.
