HOPKINS (WACH) -- Saturday is National HIV Testing Day and the Richland Community Health Care Association will be offering free tests to the community.
Officials say there are roughly 3,800 people living with HIV in Richland County and they add an estimated one fifth of Americans are infected and don't know it.
That's why officials say it's so important to get tested.
"Get tested to they will know," encourages Malik Seabrook. "Knowledge is power and having that knowledge, your status where you are, is so important."
The free tests will start at 10 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. at Hopkins Park in Lower Richland County.
There will also be food and activities for the kids and additional health screenings.
