LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- Lexington One School District's Board of Trustees approved next school year's general fund budget Tuesday night.

In its fourth reading, the board passed the more than $166 million operating budget for the 2010-2011 school year.

The plan calls for the elimination of 70 positions within the district including teachers and administrators.

No raises will be given and furlough days have also been put in place.

The district already made reorganizations prior to setting the budget in stone.

The $166,686,481 spending plan is a 1.22 percent decrease over the 2009-2010 budget.
