LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- The city of Columbia has issued a water boil advisory parts of Lexington County.

Water customers in the area of Kiawah Road, Wilton Hill Road, Grice Court and Rowe Circle, and areas that were left without water Monday are advised to boil water for at least sixty seconds before consuming.

The problem stems from a line break in a 12 inch main which could lead to contamination.

Residents will be notified when it is safe to drink the water without boiling.

Water officials are working to correct the problem.
