WOBURN, MASS. (AP) -- A man accused of killing his wife, two children and mother-in-law in their suburban Boston home is set to be arraigned.
Thomas Mortimer IV was captured Thursday about 100 miles from Boston in Bernardston. His capture came just hours after he was charged with four counts of murder.
Prosecutors say he wrote letters claiming: "I murdered my family."
Mortimer's 41-year-old wife, 64-year-old mother-in-law, 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter were found dead in their Winchester home Wednesday.
District Attorney Gerry Leone describes the scene as "horrific, disturbing and unspeakable."
Mortimer is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Woburn District Court.
His boss calls him a very nice guy and doesn't believe he could be involved in the killings. His father has appealed for privacy for the family.
