COLUMBIA (AP) -- Sixty-six high school seniors in South Carolina's public schools are graduating without having missed a single day of class in 12 years.

The students with perfect attendance are among more than 44,000 seniors graduating statewide.

The state Education Department released their names Tuesday. The agency has recognized students graduating with perfect attendance since 1979. Last year, 72 students were recognized.

State schools chief Jim Rex says it's an amazing achievement to go to school for 2,160 days without a single absence.

The students will receive certificates and congratulatory letters from Rex's office.

Mauldin High School in Greenville County and Dorman High in Spartanburg District 6 each had four students on the list.
