BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Another public official has been arrested in the same South Carolina county whose former sheriff is facing federal drug charges.

Multiple media outlets report Friday that 39-year-old Lee County public works director John Muldrow has been arrested.

He and his brother, Charles Muldrow, were charged Thursday with cocaine possession and manufacturing marijuana. Acting Sheriff Daniel Simon says officers found the drugs at John Muldrow's house.

Both men were in the Sumter County jail awaiting a bond hearing, and it wasn't clear if they had attorneys. Muldrow has been public works director for eight months.

Simon says the arrests are not related to former Sheriff E.J. Melvin's case. Melvin was arrested earlier this month on federal drug conspiracy charges.
