COLUMBIA -- You've probably heard the expression 'there's no such thing as a free lunch.'
Well that wasn't the case for some local cab drivers Wednesday.
In honor of National Tourism Week, the Columbia Regional Visitors Center honored cabbies for their dedication and help with tourists.
Cab drivers say it's their pleasure to show visitors around the city that's famously hot.
"A lot of people are coming from other places. We mingle with them and we learn from them," says Evans Twum-Danso. "That's the most important, we learn a lot from the tourists."
Officials with the visitors center say nearly 150 cab drivers enjoyed lunch during the annual event.
