COLUMBIA (AP) -- South Carolina senators have agreed to send the House a bill that will force political caucuses to disclose how they spend their money.

The Senate's Thursday voice vote gave the legislation second reading and final approval on Friday. That means the bill will beat a procedural deadline for bills to reach the House by Saturday.

It will force House members to decide whether to deal with bill or face questions about their secret caucus spending in the June primary and general election.

An analysis by The Associated Press showed last week that Republican and Democratic caucuses in the House and Senate have spent $3.4 million from operating accounts since 2008 without disclosing where the money went.
