WAGENER, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina woman has been accused of trying to set fire to a home with three teenagers in it.

The Aiken Standard reported Saturday that 37-year-old Cindy Clemons of Orangeburg was charged with arson and assault and battery.

Aiken County records show Clemons remained in jail Saturday. There was no information about whether she has an attorney.

Police say Clemons threatened a couple who live in the home early Wednesday before the fire was set that night.

Investigators say Clemons had lived with the family at one time.

The girls in the home are ages 14, 16 and 18.

They told police the woman had talked with them before the fire started and they saw her in the front yard when they left the home after they discovered the fire.
