CHESNEE (AP) -- CHESNEE, S.C. (AP) -- A coroner says a South Carolina high school student and a middle school student have been killed in a wreck on their way to class.

Multiple media outlets reported the wreck happened shortly before 8 a.m. Friday on a road just west of Chesnee.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says one of the victims was a student at Chesnee High School, the other at Chesnee Middle School. A third person in the car, also a middle school student, was flown to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The names of those involved have not been released.

Fowler says it appears the driver lost control of the car on a curve and hit an embankment and a tree.
