One of the seven candidates originally running have re-filed for the new election date.
COLUMBIA -- So far, only one candidate has re-filed for the District II city council seat.
Josh Stroman is the only candidate in the race at this point.
On April 5, the night before voters went to the polls in the general election, a three judge panel ruled that a special election could not take place to fill former councilman E.W. Cromartie's seat.
The new date for the election is now July 13.
Before that decision, when the election was expected to be held with other municipal elections, there were seven candidates in the race.
Candidates have until May 13 to file to run in the election.
