Police investigating early morning murder

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The Columbia Police Department is investigating the murder of a 23 year old male victim.

Police say the victims body was discovered Sunday morning after an officer spotted a Toyota Camry speeding while traveling south on Bull Street and flashing its hazard lights.

After stopping the vehvile at Bull and Lady Streets the officer made contact with the driver and was informed that his friend had been shot.

During the initial investigation it has been determined that the victim was shot while sitting in the Toyota Camry while parked in the parking lot of 1701 Main Street.

At this time there are no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
