Campus, city police working to catch predator

A group of female students say a man broke into their apartment and when police arrived, no one claimed jurisdiction.

COLUMBIA -- Benedict College released a statement Friday after a man reportedly broke into some student housing at Garners Crossing Apartment complex early Thursday morning.

A group of female students say a man broke into their apartment and when police arrived, no one claimed jurisdiction.

While there is still some uncertainty over exactly what happened Thursday morning, Benedict College says they are taking the incident seriously.

A spokesperson says, "Safety and security is one of Benedict College's top priorities for its students, faculty and staff.  The Benedict College Campus Police is assisting the Columbia Police Department with its investigations to bring this predator to justice."
