Several people skipped work as part of March Madness.

COLUMBIA -- Plenty of students, teachers and maybe just workers in general played hookie Friday.

All for March Madness.

Jillian's, in the Vista, was one of many places hosting "skip day" for different bracket match-ups, and people are taking advantage of the fun, hoops and hardwood action.

"It can be productive," explains Wofford Basketball fan Michael Hall.  "I've got an iPhone with me, so I can still check emails and voicemails and do what I need to do.  But for the most part, I guess it could be unproductive."

But not everyone was playing hookie.  Some just showed up on their lunch break to join in.
