LEXINGTON -- Lexington County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 55 year-old man for failure to make court-ordered child support payments totaling $104,000.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts says Johnnie Lee Mack was arrested Tuesday and taken into custody.

Mack was being held on Wednesday, March 10 at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a hearing in family court to resolve his Lexington County child support case.

According to Sheriff James R. Metts, in 2009 fugitive investigators arrested 194 habitual offenders on family court bench warrants. So far this year, fugitive investigators have arrested 18 habitual offenders who have not made a combined total of more than $531,000 in unpaid, court-ordered child support payments in Lexington County.

If you or someone you know would like to resolve court-ordered child support payments, call the Clerk of Courts Office at (803)785-1196 or surrender at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.
