HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) -- Tournament director Steve Wilmot says there will be a Heritage in 2011, with or without a title sponsor.

Wilmot said Monday that organizers squirreled away enough money to fund the PGA tournament past 2010, the last to feature communications giant Verizon as its main sponsor.

Wilmot is not so sure what could happen to the event in 2012 should the tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links not secure a sponsor to take over Verizon's share of the costs. Wilmot said the event would need between $7 million and $8 million to put on a tournament.

Verizon announced last fall it was ending its title sponsorship at Harbour Town, which the company began when it was MCI in 1987.
