Spending a night in jail, might be the solution for some troubled teens.

Next week, the Lexington County's Sheriff's Department will take teenagers on a tour of the jailhouse.

Sheriff James Metts says the eye-opening experience is designed to teach a lesson on the truth and consequences for bad behavior and poor choices.

Metts says, he's hopeful he can turn the teens around by showing them jail is not a pleasant place.

"Jail ain't cool," said Sheriff Metts.  "And they tend to wanna think that they think jail is a cool place to be and it's a status symbol for them to get arrested and to come to jail.  But it's a tough-tough environment to be in."

The "Truth and Consequences Jail Tour" will take place next Wednesday, February 24th.
