False Alarm on Saluda River

COLUMBIA (WACH) - According to Columbia Fire officials, a claim of a person in the Saluda River Tuesday afternoon was a false alarm.

Crews responded to the river near Riverbanks Zoo this afternoon, but found there was no cause for concern.

Deputy Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins adds due to the recent rainfall the river is extremely dangerous.
