Fire causes $250,000 in damages

The Lexington County Fire Service is investigating a Sunday Morning fire on Ballentine Lane.

The Lexington County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a residential structure fire at 208 Ballentine Lane at approximately 10:11am.

When officials arrived on the scene, they discovered a lake front home heavily engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters approximately one hour to bring the fire under control with help from Newberry County firefighters.  

The homeowner was at home but was not injured.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to have started from a fire in the homes fireplace. 

The home is a total loss with preliminary damage estimated at  $250,000.
