Multiple media outlets reported Thursday that the Rev. Solomon Jackson Jr. gave the money to Morris College, where he studied theology in the 1970s.

The college in Sumter will use the gift to build a new administration building, dormitory and maintenance facilities. The school also will establish a scholarship fund in Jackson's name.
