COLUMBIA-- With temperatures well below freezing in Columbia, city officials urge residents and business owners to turn off sprinkler systems.

The excess water can get on roadways and freeze, causing potentially dangerous roadways.

The deep freeze is expected to last for at least the rest of the week.
