(AP) -- South Carolina lawmakers are preparing to discuss a formal rebuke of Gov. Mark Sanford.

The meeting Wednesday of the House Judiciary Committee comes a week after a smaller legislative panel turned aside an impeachment move against the two-term Republican and instead recommended censure.

The full committee could revive the push to oust the governor because of his trips to see an Argentine lover and on state planes, but that is not expected. Sanford still faces civil ethics charges for allegedly improper travel and use of campaign funds.

The censure resolution accuses him of bringing "ridicule, dishonor, disgrace and shame" to the state. To pass, it requires a majority vote of the committee and both chambers of the Legislature.
