COLUMBIA -- Columbia police are seeking citizen help in identifying a man who tried to rob the Bank of America branch on Gervais Street Tuesday morning.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect Thursday in hopes someone may recognize him.

Investigators say around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday the unidentified man walked into the bank, handed a teller a note demanding money, and started yelling.

The suspect ran away without cash. Police describe him as a black man in his 50s, wearing dark pants and a corduroy jacket.

If you have information that might help police find this suspect, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
