The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the entire Midlands in effect from Wednesday morning through the evening. A flood watch means that flooding is possible due to a prolonger period of rainfall. It's important to note that flash flooding, typically seen during thunderstorms, is less likely in Wednesday's scenerio.
"Flooding can be a very dangerous situation," says SkyWACH Weather Anchor Justin Kier. "Wednesday's scenerio doesn't look to be excessively dangerous, but it can lead to dangerous roadway conditions. I'd exercise caution on local raods and near local streams."
After a soggy Monday that saw record setting rainfall in some locations, the soil is still wet from that rainfall making it harder to absorb Wednesday's onslaught. Some flooding is possible in the normal low-lying areas. Stay posted on the lastest right here at midlandsconnect.com
