GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of another man.

Multiple media outlets reported that 49-year-old Terry Dean Gregory of Simpsonville is charged with shooting and killed 20-year-old Roger Lee White Jr. late Saturday.

Deputy Matthew Armstrong says deputies were called shortly before 11 p.m. by someone who said a person had been shot near Simpsonville.

Deputies found White unresponsive in the middle of the road.

Armstrong says Gregory was there.

Armstrong says witnesses told investigators that Gregory and White had argued earlier Saturday and agreed to meet to settle the dispute.

Deputy Coroner Tony Segars says an autopsy is planned Monday.

It was unclear if Gregory had an attorney.
