Lexington County fire crews have responded to a small plane crash near Hallman Pond Road.

Details are limited right now but we have confirmed that around 4:15 PM Lexington County was notified that a small, single engine Cessna had crashed while attempting an emergency landing.

According to Major John Allard, the propellor-driven aircraft succeeded in landing on a local grass air-strip but lost control of the nose which dipped too low damaging the plane.

Both pilot and passenger walked away from the crash with minor injuries.

Maj. Allard says the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the accident.

WACH Fox has a news crew on the scene and we will update you with more information as it become available.
