CLEMSON, S.C. - It was an interesting day for Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and former starting receiver Xavier Dye.
Swinney spoke Thursday morning on WCCP-FM radio and said Dye was no longer with the team and wanted to transfer to another schoool.
Since that radio interview, Clemson athletics spokesman Tim Bourret says Swinney met with Dye and the junior is staying with the Tigers.
Dye began the season as a starter, but dropped a pass against Middle Tennessee. He was moved to second team at practice the next week and did not play in a 30-27 loss at Georgia Tech on Sept. 10. The 6-foot-5 junior from Greenwood has 11 career catches for 129 yards and one touchdown.
Xavier Dye will not play in Saturday's game against Boston College.
