Latest local news, weather and high school sports from the Midlands

Bob Coble was first elected mayor in 1990 and he has racked up quite a few achievements in the nearly 20 years since.  There have also been a few bumps along the way including:

Canal Side-- an effort to redevelop the old CCI prison grounds.  The project is taking shape but remains a work in progress.

And, the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority-- The city and country struggle to keep busses, once run privately by SCANA Corporation, rolling.

But many people choose to remember the good things that have developed for Columbia during "The Coble Years."
