CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The president of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce says lawmakers should move quickly on the possible impeachment of Gov. Mark Sanford.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that about 70 business leaders met in Charleston Tuesday to talk about the coming legislative session.
Chamber president Otis Rawl says he expects the House to consider impeaching Sanford and hopes a decision will be reached before January, to avoid tying up lawmakers during the 2010 session.
Rawl says the 2009 session accomplished little because lawmakers spent so much time trimming more than $1 billion from the state budget.
Business leaders said they want the state to improve film incentive offers and come up with a good package to lure a possible Boeing assembly plant to North Charleston.
