COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Friends of South Carolina's first lady say she is willing to work fixing her shattered marriage as her sons adjust to a new school and living away from the governor's official residence.
Longtime friends Marjory Wentworth and Virginia Lane told CBS's "The Early Show" Monday that Sanford wants to be able to tell her four sons that she did everything possible to reconcile with Gov. Mark Sanford.
The governor admitted in June to a yearlong affair with an Argentine woman.
Jenny Sanford is living with her sons at the family's coastal home and the boys are preparing to spend the school year in a new school.
The two friends say Jenny Sanford is dealing with the upheaval in part by acknowledging that all people face tough times.
