This weekend, friends and family of a Gilbert teenager who died last week are saying their final goodbyes.
On Saturday, visitation for 17-year-old Michael James Gilpatrick took place in Lexington
The funeral for the high school student will be held Sunday at 2:00 inside the gymnasium at Gilbert High School.
In a message from the family Friday, they said in a statement, "We are comforted by the fact that Michael lives on - not only in the hearts of family and friends, but now also through others because of the organ donation program."
An autopsy showed Gilpatrick died from Cardiac Arrhythmia, meaning there's abnormal electrical activity in the heart and can be caused by a number of health conditions.
A candlelight ceremony will take place Sunday at 8:30 PM at the Gilbert High School stadium located on Two Notch Road in Gilbert.
