IOWA CITY, IOWA (AP) -- A former Iowa City man accused of killing his infant son nearly four years ago wants his trial delayed.

Brian Dykstra, who lives in Central, S.C., is charged with second-degree murder in the August 2005 of his 20-month-old son, Isaac.

The boy was found unconscious and having trouble breathing at Dykstra's home in Iowa City. The child was taken to a hospital and died the next day. Dykstra wasn't charged until August 2008.

Dykstra's trial is set for Aug. 17 in Johnson County District Court. His attorney has filed a motion asking for more time.
