COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Controversy is brewing over the possibility of the state government leasing ETV's broadband capacity to private companies.
The South Carolina Progressive Network sent out a press release Tuesday afternoon, saying the Internet is not available to everyone, and by giving the space to private companies, most of the state will "remain in the digital dark".
The release refers to the meeting of the Joint Bond Review subcommittee that will take place Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Gressette Building. The morning agenda is attached to this story.
The Progressive Network says the subcommittee will hear testimony on the possibility of ETV's broadband capacity being privatized at 2 PM. The group will hold a press conference outside the Gressette Building at that time.
WACH FOX News will keep you posted on the developments and will have details on WACH FOX News at Ten Wednesday.
