CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- It's the dog days of summer in South Carolina and Drayton Hall near Charleston is marking the month by helping Fido and any of his homeless friends.
The plantation on the Ashley River welcomes dogs to come and roam the plantation's wooded paths.
During August, $4 from every adult admission with a special coupon goes to benefit Pet Helpers Rescue and Adoption Shelter in Charleston. Folks at the plantation will also have tips for helping dogs deal with the hot weather.
Visitors must download the coupon and present it at the gate. Those who do also get a doggie goodie bag for their own pet.
