GEORGETOWN, SC (AP) -- A South Carolina port is in line to get some new business.
Officials of the South Carolina State Ports Authority, along with local business and maritime leaders, make the announcement at a news conference at the Georgetown port on Wednesday.
The port is located about 60 miles northeast of Charleston where the authority operates several other terminals.
The Georgetown port has handled items such as coal and cement, although cargo volumes at the port have declined in recent years.
