SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, SC (AP) -- There's going to be more nighttime activity around a South Carolina Air Force base.
Military officials say F-16 pilots based at Shaw Air Force base will be spending more time in the air at night this week to train with night vision equipment.
Officials also say the training helps pilots get practice on combat tactics.
Last week, F-16s fighter jets from Shaw flew over South Carolina in an exercise designed to hone the military's ability to track and intercept potentially threatening aircraft.
Shaw's 20th Fighter Wing attempted to find and track down an Air Force jet during the operation dubbed "Amalgam Arrow."
