A search for a missing swimmer has ended tragically.
Rescuers found the body along Broad River late Sunday morning at around 11:20 AM.
Saturday afternoon, officials tell WACH FOX News that two construction workers were taking a break along the Broad River when they decided to go for a swim.
That's when one of them went underwater and disappeared.
Deputy Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says it's important to be safe around the water.
"Unless you've got some kind of floatation device that you can throw out, or you're got a life jacket on or are in a boat - if you're not an experienced swimmer, you shouldn't go out and try to tackle these waters."
Rescue teams called off their search Saturday night at 8:45 PM and resumed Sunday morning. That's when they found the body.
