Business is booming at Shear Xpecations, while many are trying to stay afloat in a down economy this Garner's Ferry road salon and spa keeps making the cut.
"It has not really hit us people are still getting there hear done and we haven't seen too much of a downfall", says owner Artana Cassidy its just business as usual.
Many scale back on expenses like a day at the spa during tough times, but customers like Casey Rego calls this an escape from the pressures of that outside world.
"I definitely think its relaxing and you get to get away from the daily stresses of your life".
"The idea of relieving stress and that it feels good to be cared for and have that experience when you have a cut and new color. It just makes you feel better about yourself".
Stephanie Bowman is a counselor at Palmetto Health; she says many just aren't willing to change their standard of living despite lean times.
"We need to feel good in the moment so you are not going to think of the implications of spending this money".
