More than 70 people rolled up their sleeves Wednesday for the annual Blood Drive for Life. Cindy Peebles was one of those donors. She's been giving for several years.
"Losing mom to cancer. She had to have blood. It's my way of helping out," says Peebles.
The Red Cross needs 500 units of blood each day in South Carolina, and supplies dwindle during the summer months.
Worker Jamie Muldrow encourages everyone to make giving part of their summer plans.
If you missed the blood drive, the Red Cross is always taking donations. To donate, you have to be at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds.
