When it comes to your personal transportation a car is a big and important purchase. So imagine planning to make that purchase--putting good money down--then deciding maybe I should wait. You'd expect to get that deposit back. But one Midlands woman says she can't get a refund. And she's come to WACH Fox News for help.
Edith Boulware says in October 2008 she tried to buy her daughter a car from Tony Glenn. She put $500 down. But nine months later she has no car, no refund, but plenty of excuses.
Boulware says Glenn told her, "When I sell the car, I'll give you your money." And "When the person does the income tax I'll give you the money."
Glenn says he has tried to resolve the issue.
"I called her back and said I have $250 and she said 'No I want it all.'" said Glenn. "But I said I didn't have it all. She hung up in my face and that was it."
"I really don't want to do business with someone that has taken me through all these changes," said Boulware.
Boulware, whose job recently laid her off, says tough times force you to take tough measures.
"It's my money I've worked hard for it," said Boulware.
"Boulware and Glenn agree on one thing, they say this issue has been parked for too long. They both want to put this in gear and get things moving.
"I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt to just work with me," said Boulware. "He had more than enough time to save my money and give my money back."
Glenn tells WACH Fox News, he's willing to do just that.
"I can give her $100 a week and we can resolve this matter," said Glenn.
And possibly restore trust in a situation that has fallen flat.
