Heisman Trophy winner and former Gamecock great George Rogers gained a lot of yards during his illustrious career at USC. Now he's trying to gain support for his foundation.
Proceeds from the annual George Rogers silent auction and charity golf tournament will go to fund scholarships for South Carolina students who chose a major within the college of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management.
Rogers is an alumnus of the college.
The non-profit also funds mini-grants for low-budget youth development organizations.
Rogers, who also starred for the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins says the lagging economy hasn't stopped people from donating.
