SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a South Carolina woman has been killed while teaching her 13-year-old son how to park a car.
Several media outlets reported that authorities identified 40-year-old Janie Mae Hampton of Spartanburg Tuesday as the woman killed the night before.
Officers think Hampton was teaching her son how to park her car around 8:30 p.m. Monday and got out of the vehicle while it was moving in reverse and he was behind the wheel.
Authorities say she was pinned between her car and another parked vehicle and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The Spartanburg Public Safety Department says no charges are expected. Hampton's son was not injured.
