Gamecocks make NCAA's for 10th straight year

Columbia, S.C. - The Gamecocks are heading to the NCAA tournament for the 10th straight season. They are one of eight teams in the country with an active streak lasting that long. 

The South Carolina baseball team (38-21) has earned a spot in the 64-team field of the 2009 NCAA Baseball for the 11th time under head coach Ray Tanner.

The Gamecocks are the No. 2 seed in the Greenville, NC regional and will face George Mason (42-12) on Friday, May 29 at 3 p.m.

The other two teams in the Gamecocks' regional bracket are top seeded East Carolina (42-17) and fourth seeded Binghamton (29-20).  This is Carolina's 25th overall appearance in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.  South Carolina has reached eight College World Series as well as seven NCAA Super Regionals.

Game 1: (3) George Mason vs. (2) South Carolina (3 p.m.)
Game 2: (4) Binghamton vs. (1) East Carolina (7 p.m.)

Saturday, May 30
Game 3: 2 p.m.
Game 4: 6 p.m.

Sunday, May 31
Game 5: 2 p.m.
Game 6: 3 p.m.

Monday, June 1
Game 7: If Necessary (6 p.m.)
