Shortly after 3:00 p.m on Sunday, fire fighters responded to a house on Park Street.  The house sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

Columbia Deputy Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins says two people were inside, when the fire broke out.  They have been displaced.

The two were taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.

Chief Jenkins says the blaze started in the bedroom, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Damages are estimated at $75,000.
