Columbia, S.C. - South Carolina hits the road this weekend with a little momentum.  The Gamecocks (30-18, 12-12, SEC) are coming off a three-game sweep of Vanderbilt as they head into this weekend's series at Tennessee (21-27, 7-17, SEC).

South Carolina leads the all-time series against the Volunteers 38-32,  including two wins last  season in the final three games played at Columbia's Sarge Frye  Field.  The Gamecocks also took two of three games in 2007 in Knoxville, the last two times the teams met at Tennessee

South Carolina is in  third  place in the SEC Eastern Division and seventh place overall with a 12-12 conference  record.   Tennessee  is  12th overall with a 7-17 mark in conference play.

In other baseball notes, South Carolina and USC Upstate will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, May 12 beginning at 4 pm at Carolina Stadium.  Each game will be seven innings with the second game scheduled to begin at 7 pm or 30 minutes after the first game concludes.  South Carolina and USC Upstate were originally scheduled to play a nine-inning game that evening but Carolina was short one
game in the regular season schedule because of Wednesday's rain out at Wofford.
