In Forest Acres, police have a would-be burglar behind bars.  The person catching him, the homeowner.  It happened Monday afternoon.  Forest Acres police arrested 34-year-old Glasco Stephens, who turned out to be an Alabama fugitive who escaped custody on bank robbery charges.

A young woman remains shaken up after coming home to find a strange man had violated her inner sanctum.

"I saw someone was sitting on my toilet so you can imagine I was very shocked," said victim Tara Young.

Not what Young expected to see on her lunch break, Monday.  An uninvited guest making himself at home, inside her home.

"As soon as I entered the house I felt like something was not right," said Young.

Young says trusting her instincts helped to keep her safe.  She says things could have been worse.

"I feel like someone was watching over me yesterday, because all of my friends know that I'm usually an anxious person," said Young.  "But somehow something just took over me and I said, 'Tara just act like you don't know he's here.'"

Lt. Bryant Hinson with Forest Acres Police says, this would-be burglar was mainly after one thing.

"We believe he was breaking into the home looking for food," said Hinson.

Young says he did take food from her refrigerator.  But the story gets even more bizarre.

"He was standing in the front yard staring at me for a moment," said Young.  "So I was able to get a full description."

"The suspect exited her residence on foot and fled up the street peeling clothes off as he was running," said Police Chief Gene Sealy.

In a possible attempt to throw police off.  Chief Sealy says it didn't work, thanks to Young's quick action.

"Instead of trying to stick around to say, 'Hey what are you doing?' She got back in her car and used her cell phone to call 9-1-1," said Chief Sealy.

"The police were so awesome in helping me. Everybody responded quickly," said Young.  "They were very supportive."

Stephens will be extradited back to Alabama, at some point.  Chief Sealy says because Stephens already faces several charges there, investigators may not file attempted burglary charges in Forest Acres.
