(AP) -- Federal officials say there are 16 confirmed cases of swine flu in South Carolina.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reduced the number of cases of the disease in the state by one to 16 on Sunday.

The confirmed cases have been linked to a Newberry private school students' trip to Mexico, where the virus first appeared.
